Steamed Collard Greens Ingredients
- 1 large bunch of collard greens (64 ounces [4 pounds] cut and washed)
- 3 cup fat-free low-sodium chicken broth or homemade chicken stock without meat
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh chopped garlic
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp black pepper
To make Steamed Collard Greens
- Wash and cut greens.
- Mix greens in large stock pot together with the remaining ingredients.
- Cook until tender. Remove from heat.
- Allow flavors to blend by preparing the dish early in the day and storing in refrigerator. The longer it blends the better it tastes.
- Reheat or serve cold.
