2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
5 cups unbleached* King Arthur or Pillsbury All Pupose Flour
1. Cream together the sugar, butter nutmeg and vanilla
2. Beat in the remaining ingredients.
3. Refrigerate a 2-3 hours.
4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
5. Roll out dough on a floured board, and cut with a cookie cutter.
6. Place cookies on a greased cookie sheet and bake 10-12** minutes until bottom is light brown.
* Unbleached flour is naturally whitened by aging.
** Because oven temperatures vary, actual cooking time may differ.
