Sweet and Sour Beef Balls
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons onion, chopped
Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- few grains pepper
- 4 slices pineapple, cut in pieces
- 3 large green peppers, cut in strips lengthwise
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 6 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Mix ground beef, egg, cornstarch, pepper and onions; form into balls.
- Brown in small amount of canola oil and drain.
- To prepare sauce, add pineapple juice to oil and cook over low heat a few minutes.
- Add mixture of cornstarch with soy sauce, vinegar, water and sugar. Cook until juice thickens, stirring constantly.
- Add meatballs, pineapple and green pepper and heat thoroughly.
