What's your favorite ethnic food?

I just love mexican. But there is so much fat so i don't eat it that much but it is my favorite

For me, it is Thai and Indian foods, learning how to make them at home is not simple, as their spices and sauces are very different than American.

:)

I dislike ethnic foods very much, they just don't taste good to me. They're either hot, or have a bad, overly-exotic flavor.

We have some Vietnamese friends who took us to a Vietnamese Pho Soup Restaurant for "fa" soup. It's really a great soup. Lately there have been more and more Vietnamese Pho restaurants have opening up near us. And some of these restaurants have really expanded their menus a feature a wide variety of Vietnamese foods. I'm like a kid in a candy shop, and enjoy trying all of the new tastes they have to offer. A couple (and not all) have real home made spring rolls that are out of this world.

I would have to say Mexican. I wish that I had some of that white cheese dip that they have I love that stuff.

I'm sure they do bake it themselves, Shabs. Or they have commercial bakers who are contracted to bake it for them offsite. Or, they use frozen bread dough and spice it up a bit. I will post some of their "copy cat" recipes for you in another thread. :)

Oh thanks workerbee. I would be looking forward for that. :)

Last week a co-worker brought guacamole and a bowl of crunchy, puffy star things for lunch. They were so good I wanted to make some, but he said they were from Mexico. He informed me that they had a similiar thing called Fryums in India.

Shabs? Anyone? What do you know about these? They were spicy and very tasty. I'd never seen nor heard of them before.

Workerbee its good to hear that you like every Indian dish you try ;) (remeber the indian potatoes). Yes Frymes are availble in India and they are little puffy crispy snacks. I love them too. But unfortunately I can't tell you it's recipe because they are readily availbale in the market. :( You just have to buy them and fry them. I wish I could send you some from here. Do you know any indian there. May be they could bring you some.:)

Workerbee I am still looking for the recipe.

Hi

Dont know about the preparation method but did find at least some of the ingredients that go into it:

Rice flour
Tapioca flour
Potato flour
Seasoned with spices

They taste best deep fried in oil and sprinkled with tangy chana or chaat masala or aamchur powder. Also go well with dips and sauces.

I guess an adventous sort might wanna do some trial and error?

Aah! ethnic foods

Absolutely adore Italian food. Certain Indian foods give a real kick too. I do a lot of experimenting with South East Asian cuisine and must say, quite enjoy the experience.

Thanks wizkid for the recipe but I was looking for pizza hut's original recipes.
Well I don't like to eat frymes with masala or anything like that. I like simple frymes.

im chinese and i love japanese food. I dont mind chinese food, but the food my mum cooks for dinner all the time, i hate it

I LOVE chinese food. All you can eat buffets are my favorite. I usually go for the beef chow mein. MMMMmmm Or the beef & brocolli. At home I like that La Choy stuff in the can. Been chow mein is my fave on that too.

Chow Mein is great! As long as the noodles are deep deep deep fried which we once tried. It was atrocious. We only ended up eating the meat or the accompaniment with the super deep fried fried noodles. It was weird very weird. I like mexican food, but i havent had it for years

Greek!
Persain!
Mexican!
Italian!
French!
As long as it's not too spicy hot I like it.

I'm sorry to say, but my favorite ethnic food is food itself. I love it all, asian, greek, american, european, spanish, mexican, italian, brazilian....you name it, they are all wonderful. I only with I had more time to have more meals in one day.

I would have to say that my favorite food is mexican and sushi. I love guacamole and mole enchiladas. When it comes to sushi I like to eat california rolls and shrimp and crab rolls.

mexican - the hotter the better. If the peppers don't make the top of your head sweat, they're not hot enough. :)
