Your FAV new cookbook so far this year?

Hey Janie----

You don't need no stinkin' pizza peel sweetie!!! I never used one and mine was just:) fine!!!

Ok here is a dumb question. The book says to let the dough rise on your pizza wheel and preheat your oven. Your supposed to slide the dough onto a hot baking stone right off the pizza peel. You would want to put the dough straight onto the hot griddle so what do you move the dough on? Parchment paper maybe?

Swaptree.com has books for TRADE. The books are in usually good condition, you print mailing label from your computer, make trades from your home and never have to leave the house. Your only cost is the mailing label. I've joined and have already completed 4 trades in a week. Go take a look. ;)

I will. Thanks.

I just remembered to order that last book I found from Amazon. I made a special trip to the bank to put in the money to order it then forgot about it for 5 hours. lol

What worked for me was to make sure I let it rest on a well floured cutting board, when it was time to transfer it onto the griddle I'd just pick up the cutting board and gently slide the dough onto the griddle! Worked just great every time!!!

Yeah Im giving that bread recipe from the book a try tonight. I have it resting on the counter right now.

I had to change my book order a little today.
I got the Taste of Home Country Cooking as planned.
I also ordered LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes to Sing About (Hardcover) & The Sopranos Family Cookbook: As Compiled by Artie Bucco (Hardcover).
I cannot wait til they come in.

I got a baking stone today at Big Lots for $10!
It is 15 or 16 inches I think. The box it was in was a wreck but the stone is in one piece.

RE: "I also ordered LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes to Sing About (Hardcover) & The Sopranos Family Cookbook: As Compiled by Artie Bucco (Hardcover)."

I've got'em both, janie- and love them! Patty has now written THREE, but I only have the first one.

I have both the Sopranos books and love them. Particularly if you're faimliar w/ the show and characters- they're fabulous reads!

I remembered you telling me about them before. I have had them on my wish list til I could afford them lol.

I got the Labelle book today. I should have gotten the Trattoria book already since I ordered it first. I hope there isnt going to be a problem with the place I ordered it from. Up til now I have had good luck with all of them.

On Fri. I got a lovely new cookbook called "Blue Eggs and Yellow Tomatoes" by Jeanne Kelley and it is a wonderful book, a terrific gift! I love it, I have the rest of my step-family coming to begin living with us this weekend two of whom are graduates of the Culinary Arts Institute in NY City. I am so excited to be able sit with them and break-out all my recipe books, and swap cooking stories and begin our new adventures in the kitchen!!!!! I believe we are going to be so happy and our very full house is going to be so wondeful and I know the food is going to ROCK!!!!

Thank you Kev!;)

I admire your generosity Cathy. I don't think I could take that many people in the house with me 24/7.
