I am a newbie here but, I very much enjoy the information exchange and ideas that one comes away with from here . My question is this: what computer cookbook programs do most of you use? I am currently using DVO cook’n with Pillsbury, but there has more or better out there. My wife and I are watching our calories and fat grams. My program is off the charts wrong. I welcome any and all input. Thank you.
Wish I could help, but I don't use any cooking software. You have to understand, though, that I'm a dinosaur who doesn't trust computers.
For nutritional data I use the USDA Composition of Foods Database---the electronic version of the old Agricultural Handbook 16. You can find it at: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
Hope that's helpful.

I found a program that I've been using the past couple years - and I've been going thru programs since the days of the old Commodore 64 computers.
I use BigOven - it gives you everything you could possibly want.
Easily incresase and decreases recipes, will do a shopping list, unlimited space (which is what I like), calculate your food counts, etc.

Hi I am glad to help you out. This by the way is my first post here. I like the site so far, anyway if you want to purchase software Mastercook is very good. If you want free online software check this out....I used to use it but I dont use recipe programs anymore cause I typed out so many it took to much of my time. Mastercook works with the website CDKitchen. You can import the recipe in without typing anything cause its already in the same format and importing into mastercook is simply a copy and paste thing really. But heres Recipe Center also for your needs and this program works great, looks nice and is easy to use and best of all is free.....recipecentersoftware.com
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
