Well friends, Friday was my weekly Poker Night. My Buds came over all holiday-worn, weary and bedraggled, but we still had a blast, and we had the usual fire-side feed before-hand. Elsie & Pearl brought a Ruben Dip in a mini crock-pot made w/ cream soup, swiss cheese, corned beef and kraut- used rye toast-points as "scoopers". YUM! Brook brought hot wings. Turner & Twila-Faye brought a Frito-Pie. Minot brought clam dip. Mark brought Spinach/artichoke dip. And I made stuffed muffelettas and oatmeal/chocolate-chunk cookies, and I supplied the Patty Lovelss music! Don't know what got me so in the mood for her music, but I loaded only HER cd's into the 6-disc changer and after hearing nothing but HER voice for hours, Twila-Faye threw down her cards (she was losing, so she was already aggrivated, anyway!) and said- "Dammit, Kevin- did Patty DIE or something?" Ha! I luaghed for ten minutes at her! :)

I never was good at playing card games. My mind can grasp a lot of things, but can't get around that. Which is odd because most of my relatives are gambling junkies. I think my Mom has a table named after her in Foxwoods.

I was raised playing spades and canasta- my family are real cards-players, Rick. I'm terrible at poker, but to be friends w/ these folks one MUST at least fake loving the game! :) we actually all have a blast, together!

I believe I've only mastered two of those.
