Do you remember how people used to go down streets and sing at doors? Not sure about elsewhere however, I don't see this happening anymore. I am from California so I don't think that many people feel safe. Do people in your areas still do this?
I haven't seen it done in years, and it's sad. I always enjoyed seeing and hearing carolers - I've even gone a few times myself.
If anything, at our local Christmas parade, sometimes groups will set up and carol for an hour or so, but that's as close as it gets anymore.

I miss caroling - it was so nice. And I miss carolers coming to my house! Many years ago we had a group that did it and sometimes we would get served hot chocolate or offered cookies. Sometimes we could coax them to join us. The last time we had carolers was about 10 years ago - teenagers - and they were not singing - they were screaming. In between songs they were hollering that they wanted "donations". No one would open their doors to them. So sad that it can't be like it used to.

In the parades around my area, they don't have any carolers. They are just bands and floats. Maybe I should start a group up or something...LOL... I just wish things were how they were back when.
