Is anyone here currently in college? Since the economy, I guess, some colleges are actually canceling their summer semester. My friend can't go back until August 31st for the fall semester. Did your school or someone you know who goes to college have their summer semester canceled? Also tuition fees are going up. They always talk about education but they make it so expensive.

No kiddin'! I guess there are grants and other type financial assistance available, if you qualify!

I guess the economy is even having an impact on our colleges!!!! Guess this slump in our economy is taking a toll on everyone. Our boss has cut out our annual raisies and put both our office employees donn to part-time, so we are all tightening our belts and making adjustments to our budgets. Maybe if the govt. had of taken all the bail-out $$$$ they shelled out to BIG CORPORATIONS and given that amount evenly to every tax payer in the US then we would have maybe seen a bigger boost to our economy! Oh well what the hay...........

The colleges here are increasing their tuition - making matters even worse. And the price of books is outrageous.

My daughter is heading to college in the fall. She has received two grants that hopefully will cover all the tuition. The cost of books is expensive. One of my daughters friends said she paid $800 on books last year because some of her teachers would only let them use new books.
