Maybe we should deal with local farmers when possible. I've been thinking along these lines for beef. I have a local guy who raises red and black angus who sells for 5.00 a pound out the door. That's butchered, packaged and all. It's a 1/2 cow minimum, but having a chest freezer I should be able to store it.
