I'm going to preface this little story with the fact that I am feeling like crap from this cold / flue nonsense and would really like to just rest in a quiet place.

Well the wife is out with our daughter at the hospital. She went out last night with them to stay at our son's place in Cleveland TN. So since last night I've been playing Mr Mom. Fate wasted no time with me.

Yesterday our daughter had a doctor's appointment after school. As you can tell this time of year every kid is sick with something. So the doctor's office is jam packed. 2 1/2 hrs later we get to go home. My daughter for some reason, get's headaches if she doesn't have a snack of some sort after school, and last night was no exception. Combine a headache, being hungry and missing Mom, what do you get.........................she starts feeling queasy and is ready to vomit. This is as I'm putting dinner on the table which is turkey pot pie. I know right away this won't end well. Off to the bathroom she goes, I start going through the cupboards for some chicken broth or some soup that will probably be ok after the bathroom scenario plays out. Unbeknownst ( I love that word by the way) to me I grab what I think is chicken flavored ramen because it's in the case marked "chicken", but lo and behold it's an oriental flavor. With all the commotion going on I don't even notice and proceed to make it for her. She eventually starts feeling well enough to eat some, I bring it out and I'm informed "this is not the soup mommy gives me" . So I proceed to argue with her that it is and she should eat it, all to the protests of "but daddy"!!!!

Long story short, she's right I'm wrong, but now it's too late she's feeling sick again. Back to the bathroom.......................later on I serve our princess the proper soup and night is finally almost over.

This morning, I had to figure out what she's wearing to school, get her fed, and off to school. All the while the dog is acting like an idiot out on the porch because he smells something in the woods, probably a deer. I try to get him in the house, but at the same time one of the cats want to go outside. So now I'm standing like a fool holding the door open for what amounts to a ****ing contest between the dog and cat. Neither will move for the other.

Can't wait to see what shenanigans transpire this afternoon when my daughter gets home from school

aarrrrggggggggggggggg I'll be so glad when the wife is home

Moms are so much more better for this stuff than Dads. I'm not trying to sound sexist and don't intend to offend anyone but God made men and women with different abilities, they compliment each other very well but when roles get reversed ........................it aint pretty :)

Okay - first of all - today when princess gets home - you and her pick out her clothes for tomorrow. Set them aside.
If you make her lunches for school - plan the menu with her.
Make sure the bookbag is ready to roll in the morning - no running around for things.
As far as the dog and cats go - well - good luck.
And you'll get the hang of this by the end of the day - so why don't you have a sleepover with about a dozen of your daughter's friends? Now THAT would be nice to see you handle!
good luck - and I really hope you feel better in spite of all this -

maybe, just maybe, I may shake this - it finally snowed and it's freezing out there - hopefully it will kill the germs - or me - whichever comes first.......

Wanna laugh? I get the morning paper - look at the obituaries - and sure as shooting - a woman with my first name and a last name close to mine died - I had to do a double take on that one - I thought I forgot to lay down!
