Dinner Tonight? (2-2-09)

uh oh! Im sorry about your fridge.
That is the plus of renting here the landlord has to foot the bill for that sort of thing.

I made garlic sundried tomato foccacia and shrimp scampi.
I was thinking of making a pot of chicken pot pie soup and dropping half of it off to my FIl tomorrow when I take Jon to PT.

I went with a friend of mine for sushi. mmmm

I love sushi! There is a great chinese restaurant in Ashland a few counties over that has the best sushi. You can get the buffet for $6.
The chinese restaurant here in town only puts the very cheapest stuff they can in their sushi. No tuna or even fake crab..it is all veggies.

My tatse buds HATE Sushi!!! I do not know how anyone can eat it, or that terrible tasting caviar!!! Now I don't mean to pick on ya' all, but Janie now I know your tatse buds are just messed up;)

I'm STILL jealous! ...my fridge is still down (Dad won't let me call a repair-man, 'cause he's SURE he can fix it, but cannot drop by until Friday Night, sooooo.....) so I ain't bought any groceries yet.

My supper tonight was several cartons from a nearby deli... did 2 crunchy chicken strips, a container of waldorf, and a container of carrot/raisin salad and a container of cranberry/spinach caeser. All were quite yummy!

What's the name of the sushi place in Ashland? I'll take my Mom there the next time I'm down south. She will be extatic to find there is a place within reasonable driving distance of her.

Sneaks in and cooks all the fishy fish, fish, fish.fish.

hee, hee more fishy last night. I made an Asian BBQ salmon on the grill and served it with stir fried veg. I think I'm on fish kick now. Tonight it's pasta with walnuts and peas topped with seared scallops.

It is called The Super China Buffet. They have tons of great dishes and they do not skimp with the sea food. Jon loves the baby ocotpus yuck! I think on the weekend the price is like $10 each but through the week two people eat for around $14. Last time we went on a weekday for dinner the check was thirteen dollars and some change for the two of us to eat buffet. They keep tons of things out on the bar packed on ice like raw oysters and mussels. They have a sushi bar inside the restaurant. I like it because it is not a stuffy place to eat either and now all of the restaurants in Ashland are non smoking. I wish they would put one of them in Grayson but as far as I know there is only one in Ashland and one up by the Huntington Mall. There is a place called Cheddars across the street from it where Jon ate with him Mom and stepdad once. He said they have really good food. China Buffet is across the street from the Ashland Town Center Mall in the building where Pied Piper used to be. It is down there where the Cinermark Movies 10 Theater is. There is an Applebee's right next door.

Octopus, OMG

OMG, Octopus???? I hope that is at least cooked. I can't imagine them tentacle suction cup thingies grabbing hold of my uvula and tonsils on the way down. Heck, if it taste bad you can't spit it back up cause it will be hanging on to tight.:D

They are baby ocotopus in this dark broth. You can see all the tentacles and suction cup thingies and the little empty heads are still there. It is gross if you ask me lol. They have great calamari though. I really like their cashew chicken.

I Love china buffet's, they are Great!! I thought octopus, you can make fried calamari?

Today I made an easy chicken stir-fry.

1 pkg Sun-Bird Stir-Fry (Seasoning Mix) mix 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2tsp Sugar, 1/3 cup water. mix

1pkg frozen stir-fry veggies

Min. rice- 1 cup

4 chicken breasts in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and half of lemon, squeeze on chicken breasts, cook, pour over seasoning mix onto chicken, add veggies and cook on low let simmer until done. *Put on top of rice.

Oh, That's right, the stir-fry was delish and easy!!
