Snow!

Its like everyone thinks as long as they have milk, bread and eggs they can live through anything lol.
 
Yeah, similar her kev. We are at 0 right now, but calling for the 40's in a couple days. Wow, a BALMY 40 degrees lol..
 
It was really chili in Chicago today. It's definitely Hot Chocolate marshmallow weather. Cookie :)
 
Ugh it is 8 degrees here tonight. Jon and I just got back in from Big Lots, Krogers and Walmart. I liked the snow..not the ice ...now I want it all to go AWAY!
 
Me too, jainie... I never had a problem w/ winter until last year. Now it really bums me sumthin' terrible! UGH. Where, oh where, is April?
 
I wouldn't mind it so much if it was at least in the 30s most of the time. This winter in particular has been just punishing. We've had temperatures in the teens and below for a month now. I'm so sick of my nose freezing when I go outside.
 
We had a week of below zero and 3-4 weeks of near zero with wind. That's not atypical for here- but for some reason this year it seems more troublesome than years past...
 
We were in the teens here this week, and yet by tomorrow we are supposed to be in the 60's!!! ALLELUIA!!!!!!!

Love me some warm weather, I am getting Spring fever really bad and ready to throw some seeds in the ground:D I wish I lived on a farm down towards Miami Florida, I would be picking strawberries in a few! And eatin avacados fresh off my trees, not to mention mango, papaya, and .............sigh!

I hear ya.. -5 this morning.. I usually grow a beard in the winter so my face doesn't freeze outside.. This season was the earliest I started it, and the longest I have let it grow since I was old enough to shave. I usually shave it off when the first 50 degree day comes along.. Here's to the hope that it will be gone soon!
 
Jafo you sound like you must look like "Grizzly Adams" by now! We must see a pic!:)

P.S. Grizzly Adams was such a gentle soul, where have all the good old TV shows gone? Remember "Flipper"? And one must never foregt "Gilligan's Island"!!!! Then "Little House on the Prarie" and "The Waltons"...sigh...now my all-time fav.'s are Iron Chef America and HGTV and the occassional episode of George Lopez!

Not a chance :p I hate this beard. The only thing I hate worse is my face going numb when it is 15 below. :)

I was raised on those shows too, Cath! I particularly loved "Little House on the Priaire" and "The Waltons" a lot...
 
Hey those were Great shows!! I just Love "Grizzly Adams" and his beard. Someone, a long time ago used to call me Gidget from flying nun. lol Cookie :)

It has been up to 60+ here the last few days.
Most of the snow piles are almost gone.

I heard that the local social service office is giving people on food stamps what ever they lost in food back in stamps as long as they sign up for it within 10 days of getting their electric back on. We know a couple of people who got their stamps doubled this month which really helped them out.

Are snow is melting fast the sun's been out there so that's a good thing!!

I think it must be terrible not to have any food. I'm glad when people get helped out if they need it. I have been stocking up a lot lately on canned soup. It's just so convenient and there when you need it. Cookie :)
