Mrs W made a new soup tonight - it was not like any she ever made before - it had non fat milk, salt free chicken granules, cubed potatoes, cubed ham (no fat), onions, pepper grating, and sliced fresh mushrooms. It tasted like cream of chicken soup and was very good.
Sometimes I think the best soups are made from whatever is on hand. With the only recipe being the stock that you start with.

I know what you mean - when I make my beef vegetable soup I start with beef neck bones and then add everything but the kitchen sink. I got this from a lady in Germany and the kids (and dog) loved it. The secret ingredient is liebstalk which we grow in our herb garden - a little goes a long way.
crabmeat and corn..my mom used to cook this soup everytime i visit her... and now im learning to do it 'coz my son love it also

Olives that medium size dish they have in grocery stores
0.5 pound maybe
2 lemons
Fresh Dill
sour cream
preparation:
1.In a medium size pot pour 3 quarts of water.
2. cut up all sausages into small-medium size pieces, so they fit in your mouth as you eat them later
3. dump all sausages in water and bring to boil. the reduce heat a little and cook for about 20 minutes
4. in the mean time cut up, lemons and pickles - also in medium size pieces
5. after 20 minutes put pickles, lemons and olives into soup and cook for another 10 minutes. also pour some of the "pickle juice" into soup, like a cup or so. it will add some taste to it. its essential you do it trust me
