Hi CanMan,

I told you I would try and get you the source of the earth warming that occured millions of years ago that I mentioned in a thread here a few days ago. One source is from a National Geographic article on-line: Global Warming Preserved "Mass Kill" Fossils, Study Says The other source was on a show I recently viewed and I am trying to locate the exact show so I can pass that along to you as well. When I nail it down I will get it posted for you.

I find all science and theory very interesting, I do not believe all of it but I am enthralled by science and the endeavors that scientists undertake. I loved science in school, and it was my favorite subjest.

Can you please pass along to me the info on the planets undergoing a change or warming process. I may have misunderstood what you meant, and I apologize if I did, but I would love to read up on it. I just love that kind of stuff.

Thanks, Cathy

Did you get to see this CanMan? The other show source was a recent show I watched last week on Discovery channel, but I can not nail down the particular time & Day or the name of the program.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'm not on cable or satellite TV so I can't get the Discovery shows, but I check their website occasionally.

With the statements they made on that page:
"The greatest mass extinction occurred some 245 million years ago, when an estimated 96 percent of all marine species were wiped out."
I don't have a timeline handy but that may be fairly close. There have been more than one period in which most life was wiped out. Supposedly it has happened to mankind itself three previous times. We are concluding the fourth period. That's one of the reasons why we have such ancient ruins that cannot be explained by our normal evolution. A gentleman by the name of Xel Iam Lundgold used to lecture about the Mayans and what they recorded. Several of his lectures are on the Internet and through his website that are worth watching. He died in 2004.

"Generally the latter stages of global warming correspond with all our major extinction events," Wignall added.
And we are experiencing now........... You can do a Google search for "Global Warming on Pluto" and learn that it is occurring on the other planets also. Can't blame that on mankind. One needs to think outside the box (solar system) for what is causing it.

"Wignall says a major phase of global warming was already causing extinctions when a giant meteorite strike is thought to have sealed the dinosaurs' fate. "
Correct, but it is now known not to be a giant meteorite, but a Brown Dwarf Star (and a companion planet and moon) that is actually the sister to our own Sun. Scientists have now accepted that we are a binary star system, which is proving to be the "norm" in our universe and astronomers are rewriting their notes as they confirm other systems. Our 2nd sun is dead, or actually smoldering like a hot coal and is on an elliptical orbit that takes approximately 3,600 years to make a circle. We are at year 3,598 about now and it is slowly becoming visible by professional telescopes from the Southern Hemisphere. NASA has spent billions trying to find/track it and set up a special telescope at the South Pole. It will be visible for amateur astronomers by this time next year hopefully.

I don't ask anybody to believe any of it, but facts are facts and the answers are out there for anyone interested in searching deep enough for them. I've been researching it for a couple years now and I don't accept things lightly.

How interesting CanMan, I will do a search and read up on it as I find some spare time! It is hard to find time for all these wonderful things I enjoy, and keeping that garden growing and making time to just relax and unwind.

You know what I wonder about alot? Why if global warming is occuring at such a fast rate do we still have such beautifully cool weather in July, don't get me wrong it is hot, but it still is unseasonably cool at times also. I, just like you, can only watch and observe and then take it all with a grain of salt. Then I hope as these events unfold that the Scientists [being human as we all are] and who do not have all the answers either are wondering some of the same things. I am usually keeping too busy to really worry about it, as worry does us no good, but still I do wonder!

The astronomical events are very interesting and tend to fascinate me to no end. The fact that we may have been a binary star system makes complete sence and does not surprise me in the least, I am interested in researching this info. Astronomy is a fascinating subject in and of itself!

Thank you for passing this info along to me. I look forward to reading up on it!

By the way do you own a telescope? I had a very poor one once and it was a pain to use. My 8 yr old and I went to an Astronomy gazing one night at a local college and he had a beautiful scope set up, we did some terrific viewing that night, we loved it!

Cheers, Cathy

By the way do you subscribe to Astronomy magazine or anything along that line? I even love the Discovery Magazine. And of-course Popular Science!
