What's for dinner?

THURS. 04/16/09: From last night's cook-out at my sister's I brought home a left-over brochette of bacon-wrapped shrimp, so tonight I'm pulling them off the skewer and piling them onto a big spinach salad w/ split grape tomatos, hard-cooked egg, cubes of mango and crumbled bleu.

I'm making chocolate-chunk/oatmeal cookies for a school group of my nephew's too, so chances are many cookies will need sampled just to make sure I get them right!

I like your Split Pea soup recipe Cookie. I make mine just about the same way with an addition of either ham, bacon and a bit of half and half.

Thanks for the idea, I was thinking about putting bacon into the pot or some smoked sausage, or ham, next time I make split-pea soup I will try that. Cookie :)

Did you have to mention Chocolate? Your chocolate-chunk-oatmeal cookies sound Good, :p just don't sample them all. Cookie :)

What's going-on, jfain? You guys have a hunch you're built over an Indian buriel ground, or something? Hee!

Someone ticked us off one time too many! LOL! Just kidding. We have water in the basement and it’s causing a lot of problems. DH is installing a sump pump to take care of the problem.

I am making this recipe but I cut it in half. Thought we would have some steak fries with it.

Grilled Shrimp With Garlic & Herbs

SERVES 4
2 lbs extra large shrimp, peeled deveined
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon sliced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon basil
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Mix all ingredient in a bag and marinate for 20 minutes in the refigerator.
Prepare grill to high heat and grill for 5-6 minutes turning to char all sides.

Your shrimp dish sounds Good! Cookie :)

I had a Bowl of white cheddar popcorn for dinner tonight. :)

My sister and bro-in-law live near a field that always has a lot of Spring-time water and snow-melt run-off and they have to have a sump-pump, too. In fact- it is SO bad, they have a back-up pump AND a generator just in case there's a power-failure!

Friday 04/17/09: I've been seeing the ads for KFC's new grilled chicken and I'm intrigued- I'm also craving their slaw, so I'll proll'y cruise thru the drive thru and give it a try...

Ours isn't that bad thank goodness but it is bad enough that we were starting to grow mold in the basement and mold spores can be very dangerous.

SATURDAY 04/18/09:

Minot informed me he wants to make me tacos tonight- but he said he'll require my help. (???)

So, I asked him what I could do?

He said since I have fast knife skills he'd let me slice and dice the lettuce and 'maters. And since I have the proper seasonings, he'll let me cook the beef. And since I already have cilantro, he'll let me make the pico de gallo.

So, I asked him what he was gonna make- he said he could bring the tortillas! (That devil!)

RE: "steak, mashed potatoes, Cesar salad"

Yum, cookie! That is what I'm having tomorrow (Sunday). Am going to Dad's for a cookout and he's got ribeyes. I'm taking some salmon as since he'll already have the Weber fired-up, I want some leftover grilled salmon for salads, omelets and quesadillas for next week.

Sunday's Dinner....

This morning for dinner I made angel hair wheat pasta and turkey meatballs with vodka sauce and garlic bread. It rained all day. Cookie :)

I made spaghetti with meatballs.
I think tomorrow we will have breakfast for dinner.
Sausage links, biscuits, gravy and eggs. Fried apples sound really good lol.
