Jafo, I am shocked to hear you say that! lol
Cathy I saw some tomato plants at the green house today that looked alot like pepper plants. Reminded me of you lol. We went to a greenhouse out in the middle of no where with Jons Dad and his aunt. They had such beautiful roses. The roses where as big as saucers and the most vibrant colors I had ever seen. AND I made a new friend...he had the most lovely brown eyes..about a foot tall and had fleas lol. They had a yorkie/poodle named Chance and we decided we were the best of friends. He tried to get in the car with us.
When Jon and I got home we had to head straight to the bathroom and throw our clothes in the washer and get a shower. My little furry buddy was covered in some buddies of his own and I sure dont want to get fleas in the house. I was kinda shocked they had let the little guy get in such a shape. She said he used to be a house dog. His hair was in bad shape where he had gotten wet. I told her about some stuff she could get at the feed store to take care of fleas and ticks and recommended she get him shaved if he is gonna stay outside. With that poodle hair I would hate to see when ticks come out. She even made the comment if they ever wanted to rehome him they would give us a call. Jons aunt works for them sometimes so they said they would get ahold of her to reach us.
Anyway..we got a dozen jalapeno plants, sweet banana peppers and Jons aunt gave us three habanero plants. Jons Dad asked me if habaneos are hot and I was like VERY lol. He was going to put them out there for me because somehow he thinks since I like jalapenos I must love anything hot. I couldnt get him to understand there is a big difference between the heat of a jalapeno and the heat of a habanero. Im not sure what I will do with the habaneros when they come on .. Jons Dad cannot even stand the heat of hot banana peppers.

You can always make hot sauce with the habaneros - holler if you need a recipe. I love banana peppers!
Jg I should've been with you & Jon on that trip.......I need pepper plants:o
I just wonder how it comes about that folks get tired of tending to their own precious pets  Darn my "little man" is such a part of the family! When we were shopping around for a new place to call home we would not even consider a place that doesn't accept pets, the pet deposit well...we just exspected it and planned for it! I know the old axiom that they are just animals after all, but hey they are our dependent upon us and it is a responsibility we took upon ourselves, why even go that route if you are not going to complete the venture! I know you & Jon are like us and love your pets for all that they add to your lives, and I believe they are a gift to be cherished, just like everything we've been blessed with right down to our food!
Well that's just sad when you see stuff like that, it can ruffle my feathers, and I gather you & Jon feel the same way. I'll bet these folks will be calling you real soon! Sounds like they are just not up to raising the poor little thing. So be prepared!!!

Yeah she sounded like to me he was all cute and adorable when he was a tiny baby but when he got older and more active they couldnt stand it and put him outside. Yorkies are very active dogs. She said theirs was one year old. Just because you have one outside doesnt mean you dont have to keep them on flea meds and heartworm prevention. Dont even get me started on the hair. You could tell she was very uncomfortable with us seeing his hair. She kept saying she was gonna shave him.
About three years ago we stayed in a house that a friend of ours had moved out of recently when our heater in the bathroom ceiling caught on fire. Luckily I am a light sleeper and heard it and caught it before it got to bad. We still had to move out for 2 1/2 weeks while they painted and put down new carpet and cleaned. Fire extinguishers make more mess than the fire. Anyway, I had never had fleas on my dog or bunny til we stayed in our friends house. They had cats and tons of reptile pets when they lived there. When we moved back home I quickly noticed my dog and bunny had fleas. It took me a solid month of flea treatments and carpet cleaning to get rid of them. That was why we made the mad dash to the bathroom and tossed the clothes in the washing machine as soon as we got home. Both animals are on flea protection but I just cant the thought of going around with those buggers again. My yorkie/maltese will be 10 years old soon and we have had him since he was 5 1/2 weeks old. He rode home in Jons tshirt pocket.
I actually thought she was kinda high on her plants. I didnt see what the peppers were but one basil plant was $4. I got the same size plants at Wal Mart for $1.99
Mama I would love your recipe for hot sauce
